1904 Official Beginning of Westmoreland Country Club
The founding group sold the Westmoreland charter, leasehold, and equipment to a group of Jewish golf pioneers led by Albert C. Loehman. This year is recognized as the official beginning of the present-day Westmoreland Country Club.
1906 Club Relocation
The original club's six-hole golf course, located along the Allegheny River in Logan's Ferry, Plum Township, faced frequent flooding due to a nearby dam, prompting the search for a new location. The club relocated to Penn Township, opening a nine-hole course on a site accessible by the Wilkinsburg-Verona streetcar line. Later, additional land was acquired, allowing the course to expand to eighteen holes and extend to the riverfront.
1907 Grand Clubhouse was Built
A grand clubhouse was built for $20,000. The first floor featured a ballroom, and the second floor housed a locker room.
1929 25th Anniversary
The club celebrated its 25th anniversary. The Western Pennsylvania Golfer praised Westmoreland for its beautiful course and architecturally impressive clubhouse.
1930s The Great Depression
The Great Depression impacted the club's membership, dropping to 111 golfers, but the club weathered the tough economic times and began to recover as golf grew in popularity.
1950 New Year's Day Fire
The original clubhouse was destroyed by fire on New Year's Day. The club purchased Greer Farm Orchard in Export, PA, and began building a new clubhouse and a 27-hole championship golf course.

2024 Celebrating 120 years!
The club celebrated its 120th anniversary. The Western Pennsylvania Golfer praised Westmoreland for its beautiful course and architecturally impressive clubhouse.
